General Information About India Visas

All international participants attending the WFE General Assembly & Annual Meeting 2026 will require a valid visa to enter India.

Delegates attending the conference may apply under one of the following visa options, depending on their nationality and eligibility.

Option 1 – e-Business Visa (Online Application)

The e-Business Visa is recommended for delegates whose nationality is eligible for India's e-Visa facility.

The entire application process is completed online, and no visit to an Indian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate is required.

How to apply

Visit the Government of India e-Visa website.

Select "Apply here for e-Visa."

Select the appropriate e-Business Visa category that applies to your travel.

Complete the online application.

Upload the required supporting documents.

Submit your application and pay the applicable visa fee online.

Supporting Documents

Please upload:

  • A copy of your passport (bio-data page in pdf).
  • A recent passport-size photograph (350x350 jpegs)
  • Copy of Business card
  • Copy of Business Invitation letter

If you require a Business/Conference Invitation Letter or any supporting visa documentation, please email Manoj Kumar at the NSE with WFE Office in copy with the information requested under the Invitation Letter Information section below. We will then email the required documents to you. You must register for the event before requesting any visa support.

Visa support documents will be issued only to registered conference participants.


Option 2 – Conference Visa (Regular/Paper Visa Application)

Delegates who are not eligible for an e-Conference Visa, or whose travel circumstances require a regular visa, should apply for a Conference Visa.

This application is made through the nearest Indian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country.

Unlike the e-Conference Visa, this process generally requires you to:

  • complete the visa application form;
  • book an appointment with the Indian Embassy/High Commission/Consulate or its authorised visa application centre;

How to apply

Visit the India Regular Visa Application website.

Select "Regular/Paper Visa Application."

Complete the online application form.

Print and sign the completed application.

Submit your passport and supporting documents at your local Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) or directly to the Indian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate on your scheduled appointment date.

Follow the instructions provided by your local Indian Mission.

Supporting Documents

Please provide:

  • A copy of your passport (bio-data page in pdf).
  • A recent passport-size photograph (350x350 jpegs).
  • Conference Invitation Letter issued by the organisers (NSE).
  • Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) clearance letters.

To obtain the Conference Invitation Letter and the MEA/MHA clearance letters, please email Manoj Kumar at the NSE with WFE Office in copy with the information requested under the Invitation Letter Information section below. We will then email the required documents to you. You must register for the event before requesting any visa support.

Once the form is filled and submitted, applicant must print the completed application form and sign and submit the physical copy along with the supporting documents and the Passport to the       concerned Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) or directly at the Indian Mission on the scheduled appointed date. Visa support documents will be issued only to registered conference participants.


Before You Apply

Please ensure you have:

  • A passport valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in India.
  • A completed visa application form.
  • A passport-sized photograph meeting the required specifications.
  • An invitation letter (if required).
  • Your travel itinerary.
  • Hotel reservation details.
  • Any additional supporting documents requested by the Indian authorities.


Important Information

  • Visa approval is solely at the discretion of the Government of India.
  • Processing times vary by country. Delegates are encouraged to apply well in advance of their travel.
  • A Conference Visa is generally issued for the duration of the conference together with a reasonable period for travel. The final validity is determined by the Indian authorities.
  • If the Indian Embassy or High Commission requests additional documents or information, these should be submitted promptly to avoid delays.
  • Spouses and accompanying persons travelling with a registered delegate should apply for the e-Tourist Visa.


Invitation Letters

If you would like to request a letter of invitation from our hosts for a visa application, please email Manoj Kumar at the NSE with WFE Office in copy, detailing the following information in your request:

  • Salutation (examples – Mr., Ms., Dr.)
  • First/Given Name
  • Last/Family Name
  • Passport #
  • Date of Birth (please spell out month)
  • Country of Nationality
  • Mailing Address
  • Dates of arrival and departure

All letters will be sent as a PDF file via email. Hard copy of the invitation will not be sent.
